The organization trains puppies to serve those individuals with physical and/or psychiatric disabilities. So where do you fit in? You can volunteer to serve as a puppy trainer, puppy sitter or foster care provider.
The Austin Animal Center is always looking for volunteers to join their team. Austin is the largest no-kill city, and the Center takes in around 18,000 dogs and cats (and other animals too!) each year. Therefore, the need for volunteers is always there. Volunteer and help the team take care of the wonderful and loving dogs and give them the attention and care they deserve.
With a motto of “helping people help pets,” Austin Pets Alive is all about the volunteer community. Getting involved is easy as you can attend an orientation any day of the week online. They are looking for dog-loving (and other pet-loving) people who can commit at least six volunteer hours a month to come join the efforts. Austin Pets Alive! is looking for volunteers of all ages (you can be as young as 12) who love dogs and who are committed to keeping Austin’s status as a no-kill city.
